Aman Mahajan Le pianiste-compositeur indien Aman Mahajan joue de la musique improvisée comme moyen d'exploration, d'expression et d'échange. Son travail est souvent réflexif, influencé par une diversité de formes traditionnelles et contemporaines du monde entier. Son album de piano solo de 2019REFUGE explore les idées de la maison, rendant hommage aux voyages intérieurs. Mahajan s'est beaucoup produit sur le circuit musical indien et à l'international dans des salles telles que Moods (Zürich, 2020), Murszene (Graz, 2019), Jazzwerkstatt (Graz, 2018), Jazz Utsav (New Delhi, 2017), EUROPAFest (Sinaia, 2015 ), Festival of Sacred Music (Thiruvaiyaru, 2015), Goa Jazz Festival (Goa, 2014), IndiEarth XChange (Madras, 2014), Rhythm & Blues Festival (Kasauli, 2014), goMAD Festival (Ooty, 2013) et MAD Festival ( Ooty, 2012). Basé à Bangalore, il est impliqué dans son projet de piano soloRefuge , et des collaborations dontTeintures avec le guitariste berlinois Nishad Pandey,Bangalore Blues avec un chanteur de jazzRadha Thomas , trio interculturelMystik Vibes avec le percussionniste Muthu Kumar et le flûtiste Amith Nadig, et un nouveau projet avec le violoniste carnatique contemporainApoorva Krishna . Axé sur le développement de la scène musicale improvisée contemporaine en Inde, Mahajan enseigne également en privé depuis son studio de piano à Bangalore, et a été un membre du corps professoral de retour auInstitut mondial de la musique , Delhi. Il organise des spectacles dans quelques salles indépendantes à Bangalore. Son travail est inspiré par une recherche d'unité et de connexion.
