Vivek Santhosh 

Vivek Santhosh hails from Kerala, India. He started learning Carnatic music (vocal) from a very young age and later got initiated into the world of western classical music (Piano) when he was in high school. Since then he has been passionately pursuing his love for music as a classical pianist, composer and arranger. He has also been teaching piano for the past 15 years.

 

Being a post graduate in Carnatic music and also the first person in the state of Kerala to have acquired an LTCL (Licentiate of Trinity College, London), a performance diploma in piano, has helped him f ind a balance between his interest in eastern and western classical music.

 

In the year 2009 he was awarded with a fellowship for the ‘Upcoming Musician’ of the year by an organisation called ‘Piano’ (Kerala). In 2012 he received a scholarship from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA.

 

He has been constantly performing, touring and associating with many internationally acclaimed musicians/composers. The influence of jazz and progressive music genres became prominent later on in his life, and the result was an experimental and contemporary music band called ‘Vivek Santhosh Trio’ in the year 2014.

 

Vivek, believes in uniqueness and this is what he presents through his music by blending his knowledge in eastern and western genres.
